I did not do as well as I had hoped to this week, but that being said I still made some pretty positive choices. I'm disappointed in some of the decisions I made or didn't make, but when I think of all of the opportunities I had to eat unhealthy food that I chose to turn down it's amazing. I can't believe I came in contact with that much junk over the course of a week. I for sure said no to more unhealthy food than I ate. Looking back at my goals for last week, here's how I did:
Exercise 6 days a week: So far I have only worked out 5, but one day I worked out morning and night and yesterday I did not workout because my gym was closed and we had a flat on the bike trailer. I felt limited in my exercise and I should have just went for a walk or something. Maybe I can find time to fit a walk in today, but as of now I did not meet this goal.
Keep track of my calories and stay in the 1500-1800 calorie range: I did really well at keeping track of my calories until the weekend. I just stopped journaling at all when the weekend hit. I think I did pretty well at staying in my range, but I need to pay closer attention. Also, some things are just really hard to calculate. No, I did not meet this goal.
No more than one dessert for the week: I mentioned the "healthy" cookie dough. I can't say that I met this goal, but I did turn down way more than I put in my mouth.
Daily journaling: Again, I didn't meet my goal. I did good until the weekend and I just need to make a habit of it.
It's kind of sad that I didn't meet any of my goals and normally at this point my slacking would lead to more slacking, but I'm thankful for a new week and a new start. I'm glad I can set new goals for next week and hopefully reach them.
I did weigh in this morning. I'm up 2 lbs from last week. That's probably about where I should be. I'm currently 47 pounds from my goal weight. Wow, that sounds like a lot of work, but for now I just have to try to make healthy decisions for me and the baby and worry about the weight later. As long as I'm eating healthy and exercising my body will do what it needs to do to take care of my little baby.
An accomplishment I did make this week was increasing my bench weight. I have been benching 75 lbs for a little while now and I've been scared to bump it up. Even the slightest amount of weight can be so challenging for me when I bench, but when I saw that the new gym had 2.5 lb weights I went for it and benched 80 lbs. for 3 sets of 8 without any spot help.
Running is getting harder. I'm slower and running only short distances now. I feel like I'm trapped in a strangers body.
GOALS FOR NEXT WEEK:
-Exercise 6 days a week
-Work on flexibility twice during the week
-Daily journaling
-Keep track of calories and stay in my range
-I'm only allowed sugar once during the week. No sneaking a piece of candy here or there. I can have one serving of candy or one serving of dessert. I did buy a few sugar free things like pudding and I would like to keep these at no more than two.
-The 4th is this week and I want to plan ahead and make good decisions. I know family gatherings will mean lots of unhealthy food and I want to be prepared to make good choices. Maybe take something healthy to share????
How did your week go? Were you guys up or down?
